THE UTAH TRUCKING ASSOCIATIONS SCHOLARSHIP AND CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS FUND HAS A THREEFOLD MISSION. FIRST, THE UTAH TRUCKING ASSOCIATION FACILITATES EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS THROUGH VARIOUS FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE A CLOSE ALIGNMENT TO THE ASSOCIATIONS MEMBERSHIP. BONUS POINTS ARE OFFERED TO THOSE SEEKING TRAINING THAT WILL PREPARE THEM FOR A CAREER IN THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY. SOME OF THE DOLLARS COLLECTED ARE DISBURSED TO THE TRADE SCHOOLS IN SOUTHERN UTAH TO ENTICE STUDENTS TO THEIR COMMERCIAL DRIVING AND DIESEL TECHNICIAN PROGRAMS. SECOND, THE TRUCKING ASSOCIATION IDENTIFIES THREE TO FIVE PREFERRED CHARITIES EACH YEAR AND MAY ORGANIZE FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES TO PROVIDE DONATIONS TO THESE WORTHY CAUSES. LASTLY, THE ASSOCIATION ADMINISTERS THE UTAH DIESEL PATHWAYS PROGRAM, WHICH ORGANIZES LEADERS WITHIN THE DIESEL EQUIPMENT INDUSTRY AND TECHNICAL TRAINING HIGH AND SECONDARY EDUCATION SCHOOLS TO IMPROVE THE TRAINING OFFERED TO STU

THE UTAH TRUCKING ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP AND CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS 501 (C)(3) EXISTS TO RAISE FUNDS TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE UTAH TRUCKING ASSOCIATION OR THOSE STUDYING FOR A CAREER IN THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY (I.E., COMMERCIAL DRIVERS, DIESEL TECHNICIANS, BUSINESS MAJORS). IT FURTHER WORKS TO IMPROVE CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES SPECIFICALLY FOR THOSE SEEKING TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION WITHIN THE DIESEL TECHNICIAN OR TRUCK DRIVING FIELDS. CAREER DEVELOPMENT INCLUDES WORKING WITH EDUCATIONAL ENTITIES PROVIDING DIESEL TECHNICIAN TRAINING TO ENSURE THAT THE TRAINING PROVIDED MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE INDUSTRY.
