TO FACILITATE THE CITY OF NEWTON, IOWA'S PARTICIPATION IN THE MAIN STREET IOWA PROGRAM IN COOPERATION WITH THE IOWA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM IS TO DRIVE CONTINUED REVITALIZATION, ECONOMIC GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT THROUGH PRESERVATION OF THE HISTORIC CHARACTER OF THE DISTRICT.
