THE MUSEUMSS PURPOSE IS THE RESTORATION OF THE NATIONAL LANDMARK LT-5 NASH, ELEANOR D AND NATIONAL REG. CANAL BARGE DERRICK BOAT 8 THROUGH VOLUNTEER AND PROFESSIONAL EFFORTS AND THE SPONSORSHOP OF RELATED PUBLIC AND CHILDRENS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, LECTURES AND EXHIBITS. IN ADDITION THE HLWMM ALSO SERVES AS STEWARDS TO THE NATIONAL REGISTER OSWEGO WEST PIERHEAD LIGHTHOUSE, CONDUCTING RESTORATION WHILE OFFERING EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND RELATED ON THE THE WATER EXPERIENCES.
