IN ADDITION TO ITS COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS, BT STUDIOS INC. OFFERS YEAR-ROUND ADULT AND FAMILY ORIENTED PRODUCTIONS, WHICH BRING THE FUN AND EXCITEMENT OF PERFORMING ARTS TO THE COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES A SERIES OF EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS. WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS LEARN ABOUT THEATRE ETIQUETTE, IMPROVISATION, CHARACTER WORK, MOVEMENT, STATE PRESENTATION, SCRIPT ANALYSIS AND MORE.
IN JULY 2018, A TRAGIC EVENT DEVASTATED THE WEST TEXAS COMMUNITY. A FIRE BROKE OUT AT THE ICONIC VILLAGE APARTMENTS IN THE COLLEGE TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, KILLING 5 PEOPLE AND CRITICALLY INJURING MANY OTHERS. ZACHARY SUTTERFIELD, A 2016 SAN ANGELO CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE, LOST 2 OF HIS ROOMMATES IN THIS HORRIFIC EVENT, BUT MIRACULOUSLY SURVIVED BY JUMPING OUT OF A WINDOW. THE FLAMES BURNED 70 PERCENT OF HIS BODY AND THE IMPACT OF THE FALL CAUSED A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY. SUTTERFIELD HAS SINCE UNDERGONE OVER 27 OPERATIONS. ZACH'S RECOVERY HAS BEEN ONE OF THE ORGANIZATION'S OUTREACH MISSIONS SINCE THE FIRE. THE ORGANIZATION'S B.A.D IMPROV TEAM HAS HOSTED AN EVENT SINCE 2018 CALLED "THE ZACH SUTTERFIELD IMPROVAGANZA" TO RAISE MONEY TO EHLP IN ZACH'S RECOVERY, AS WELL AS THE CHALLENGES HE WILL FACE IN THE COMING YEARS AS HE ADJUSTS TO LIFE AFTER THE FIRE.
