SINCE 2007, THE INSTITUTE FOR NONPROFIT PRACTICE (INP) HAS WORKED TO CREATE A MORE EFFECTIVE, CONNECTED, AND DIVERSE NONPROFIT SECTOR BY EDUCATING THE CURRENT AND NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS. OUR MISSION IS TO TRANSFORM COMMUNITIES BY EQUIPPING THE MOST PROMISING NONPROFIT LEADERS WITH THE SKILLS, CONFIDENCE, AND RESOURCES THEY NEED TO MAKE THEIR ORGANIZATION'S EFFECTIVE, INNOVATIVE, AND SUSTAINABLE. WE PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE, ACADEMICALLY DISTINGUISHED, AND AFFORDABLE CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS IN AFFILIATION WITH THE JONATHAN M. TISCH COLLEGE OF CIVIC LIFE AT TUFTS UNIVERSITY. OUR PROGRAMS EMPHASIZE SOCIAL JUSTICE AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN AND PEOPLE OF COLOR IN LEADERSHIP.OVER TEN YEARS WE HAVE STEADILY GROWN: OUR FIRST PROGRAM SERVED 14 NONPROFIT EXECUTIVES, AND WE NOW EDUCATE OVER 150 LEADERS IN OUR YEAR-LONG PROGRAMS ANNUALLY ACROSS FOUR SITES, AND WE CONTINUE TO GROW. THE CORE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM (OR CORE PROGRAM) EQUIPS NONPROFIT, PUBLIC AND SOCIAL SECTOR LEADERS WITH THE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND NETWORKS THEY NEED TO MAKE STRATEGIC, MISSION-DRIVEN DECISIONS THAT CENTER DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND BELONGING, AND EFFECT MEANINGFUL CHANGE. THROUGH THE CORE PROGRAM, ESTABLISHED NONPROFIT LEADERS CAN REALIZE THEIR FULL POTENTIAL, BUILDING ON THEIR STRENGTHS TO ELEVATE THEIR CAREERS AND IMPACT. THE TUITION BASED YEAR-LONG PROGRAM INCLUDES: WEEKLY MANAGEMENT SEMINARS, WEEKLY PRACTICE SEMINARS, ONE ON ONE MENTORSHIP AND THE NATIONAL NETWORK OF ALUMNI. IT IS OFFERED IN BOSTON, LAWRENCE, AND HYANNIS, MASSACHUSETTS; PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND; AND NEW YORK, NEW YORK FOR EXECUTIVES AND MIDDLE MANAGERS, THE MAJORITY OF WHOM ARE BLACK, INDIGENOUS, PEOPLE OF COLOR, AND WOMEN. SINCE IT BEGAN IN 2007, MORE THAN 1,350 STUDENTS HAVE COMPLETED THE CORE PROGRAM.
THE COMMUNITY FELLOWS PROGRAM (CFP) AIMS TO GROUND EMERGING NONPROFIT AND COMMUNITY LEADERS IN THE SYSTEMIC CONTEXT OF SOCIAL CHANGE WORK, DEVELOP KEY NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS, AND EMBED STUDENTS IN A ROBUST PROFESSIONAL NETWORK TO PROPEL THEIR CAREERS. IT IS OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE IN BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS AND NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK. BUILT FROM COMMUNITY ORGANIZING VALUES AND FRAMEWORKS, CFP INVESTS IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF HIGH POTENTIAL, EMERGING SOCIAL SECTOR AND COMMUNITY LEADERS. CFP STUDENTS ADVANCE THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS, INCREASE THEIR SOCIAL CAPITAL AND ARE EMBEDDED IN A ROBUST PROFESSIONAL NETWORK TO PROPEL THEIR CAREERS.
