ORGANIZE, FACILITATE AND CONDUCT THE HARDROCK HUNDRED MILE ENDURANCE RUN EVENT, PRE-RUN, POST-RUN CELEBRATIONS & ACTIVITIES BASED IN AND AROUND SILVERTON, COLORADO, LOCATED IN THE RUGGED AND EXTREME MOUNTAINS AND HIGH ALTITUDE SAN JUAN MOUNTAIN RANGE.

THE HARDROCK HUNDRED MILE ENDURANCE RUN PROMOTES HIGH ALTITUDE AND LONG DISTANCE RUNNING AND RELATED SPORTING ENDEAVORS, PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, SAFETY AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY. THE EVENT IS HELD ON A LOOP COURSE ON 4WD ROADS AND DIRT TRAILS IN THE SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHERN COLORADO. THE RUN ATTRACTS LONG DISTANCE ATHLETES FROM AROUND THE WORLD. THE PERMITTING PROCESS THROUGH THE LAND AGENCIES REQUIRES A LIMITED FIELD. THE EVENT HAS EXTREME CHALLENGES IN ALTITUDE, STEEPNESS OF TERRAIN AND REMOTENESS. MOUNTAINEERING, WILDERNESS SURVIVAL AND NAVIGATION SKILLS ARE IMPORTANT IN THIS ENDURANCE RUNNING EVENT.
