SERVICE COMPONENT 1: CODE 62411 EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOUR 39- HOUR WALKING IN BALANCE WITH ALL OUR RELATIONS CURRICULUM TRAINING FOR THE PREVENTION OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE, RESULTING IN 40 NEW COMMUNITY TRAINERS. A RESTORATIVE JUSTICE WORKSHOP WAS GIVEN AT SKIDMORE COLLEGE, AND 35 PEOPLE ATTENDED. A TALKING CIRCLE FOR SOCIAL CHANGE, SOCIAL JUSTICE, AND RACIAL EQUITY WAS GIVEN IN FALMOUTH, MA, IMPACTING 50 PEOPLE. A NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TRANSFORMING THE CULTURE OF POWER WAS HELD IN THE SPRING, ATTENDED BY 400 PEOPLE ON ZOOM. VBCIC PRESENTED AS A PLENARY SPEAKER AT THE COLORADO COALITION AGAINST SEXUAL ASSAULT, THE NEVADA COALITION AGAINST SEXUAL ASSAULT, THE OHIO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE NETWORK, THE ARIZONA COALITION AGAINST SEXUAL ASSAULT, WHEATON COLLEGE PANELIST ON INDIGENOUS ISSUES, AND THE LEAP PROGRAM FOR RISING LEADERS OF COLOR AT THE CALIFORNIA COALITION AGAINST RAPE. VBCIC WORKED WITH THE PENNSYLVANIA COALITION AGAINST RAPE AS A MEMBER OF A YEAR-LONG ADVISORY GROUP TO EDIT THE SV DISASTER RELIEF GUIDE TO REFLECT THE REAL NEEDS AND EXPERIENCES OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE DURING DISASTERS TO MITIGATE THE INCREASE IN THE INCIDENCE OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE. THESE EVENTS IMPACTED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. THROUGHOUT 2021, VBCIC PARTICIPATED ON THE GOVERNOR'S STATUTORY RESTORATIVE JUSTICE ADVISORY COMMITTEE, ATTENDING MONTHLY MEETINGS, AND SERVING ON SEVERAL COMMITTEES. VBCIC ALSO PARTICIPATED IN THE RURAL ECONOMIC SECURITY TASK FORCE IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS; WITH GROWING A NEW HEART ON "DIALOGUING ACROSS DIFFERENCE" TRAINING.. SERVICE COMPONENT 2: CODE 624110 RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT: PART 111 QUESTION 29. RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT: VBCIC WORKED TO UPGRADE OUR WEBSITE AND DEVELOP NEW TRAINING BROCHURES TO REFLECT OUR GROWTH AS AN ORGANIZATION. CONSTITUENTS WERE INVOLVED IN DOING THIS ON A WEEKLY BASIS, RESULTING IN COMPLETELY REVAMPED MATERIALS. WE HELD COMMUNITY DRUM PRACTICES EVERY WEEK TO DEVELOP NEW SONGS THAT ADDRESS HEALING AND TRANSFORMATION FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS. VBCIC WORK SERVICE COMPONENT 3: CODE 624110 DISSEMINATION OF RESOURCE MATERIALS:VBCIC PARTICIPATED IN THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY EVENT IN SHELBURNE FALLS, MA, WHERE WE VENDED ALL DAY, PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS. WE DRUMMED AND OFFERED A VARIETY OF TRADITIONAL CRAFTS. EDUCATION WAS GIVEN REGARDING THE BUILDING OF TRADITIONAL CRAFTS AS WELL AS SHARING OUR VISION AND PURPOSE. OVER 500 ATTENDED THIS EVENT. VBCIC PROVIDED WALKING IN BALANCE WITH ALL OUR RELATIONS TRAINING TO SENIOR RESIDENTS OF LOOMIS VILLAGE IN AMHERST, MA. RESIDENTS RECEIVED TRAINING ON CIRCLE PRACTICE AND ON VIOLENCE PREVENTION.
