BOYS STATE - TO INSTRUCT YOUNG MEN FROM THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ABOUT GOVERNMENT AND ITS POLICIES AND PRACTICES OVER THE COURSE OF A ONE-WEEK PROGRAM EACH YEAR.


MICHIGAN AMERICAN LEGION WOUNDED AND RETURNING WARRIOR RETREAT - ASSIST WITH PROVIDING EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND ASSISTANCE FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES TO GET ACCLIMATED WITH EACH OTHER BY GOING ON LOCAL VACATION RETREATS.


TO HELP HOMELESS VETERANS REGAIN THEIR STABILITTY AND RETURN TO SELF- SUFFICIENCY. THE STUDENT TROOPER PROGRAM IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MICHIGAN STATE POLICE IN ORDER TO TEACH YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN ABOUT CAREERS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT. THE SERVICE OFFICER TRAINING SCHOOL INSTRUCTS AMERICAN LEGION POST SERVICE OFFICERS ON THEIR DUTIES IN RELATION TO THE MEMBERS OF THE POSTS THAT DO NOT HAVE DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION.
