THUMBS UP HIGH 5K IS A 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS MENTAL HEALTH AND SUICIDE PREVENTION. OUR MISSION IS "BRINGING AWARENESS TO MENTAL HEALTH AND PROVIDING SUPPORT AND RESOURCES TO ALL." THUMBS UP HAS NINE PROGRAMS INCLUDING: ADULTISH, CHEER BAGS, NANA'S CALMING CORNER, COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS, NO ONE SITS SOLO, REFERRAL ASSISTANCE, SMILES FOR SENIORS, BEREAVEMENT OUTREACH, AND YOUTH AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS. IN 2023, THUMBS UP REACHED A RECORD NUMBER OF PEOPLE THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS. ~THUMBS UP HOSTED 156 YOUTHS IN OUR ADULTISH PROGRAM FOR 16-19 YEAR OLDS. OUR SOCIAL WORKER HOSTS THIS PROGRAM , WHICH MEETS WEEKLY. ~THUMBS UP PROVIDED 52 GAP THERAPY SESSIONS IN 2023. GAP THERAPY WAS A NEW PROGRAM. THUMBS UP PROVIDED THE GAP THERAPY PROGRAM FOR THOSE WHO NEED THERAPY BUT CANNOT GET IN DUE TO A LACK OF THERAPY OPTIONS AND AFFORDABILTY. THIS WAS A FREE PROGRAM OFFERED TO INDIVIDUALS WHO DID NOT HAVE MENTAL HEALTH COVERAGE OR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. ~THE THUMBS UP ELK RIVER AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM HAD 930 YOUTH VISITS. THIS PROGRAM IS FREE TO MIDDLE SCHOOL THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. ~THUMBS UP DONATED 42 BEREAVEMENT GIFTS TO FAMILIES WHO HAVE LOST A LOVED ONE TO SUICIDE. ONE SUICIDE IS TOO MANY, AND THUMBS UP IS SUPPORTING THOSE WHO HAVE LOST A LOVED ONE TO SUICIDE. ~FORTY-SIX PEOPLE ATTENDED OUR SUICIDE SURVIVORS SUPPORT GROUP IN 2023. WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING FAMILIES NAVIGATE THEIR WAY AFTER THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE TO SUICIDE AND SUPPORTING THEM WITH OUR SUICIDE SURVIVORS SUPPORT GROUP. ~THUMBS UP SPENT 28,800 IN THERAPY SESSIONS THROUGH THE REFERRALS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM IN 2023, WHICH EQUATES TO 288 THERAPY SESSIONS. ~IN 2023, THUMBS UP DONATED 757 CHEER BAGS ACROSS MINNESOTA: 472 TEEN CHEER BAGS, 98 ADULT CHEER BAGS, 61 MENS CHEER BAGS, AND 126 YOUTH CHEER BAGS. ~THUMBS UP HOSTED ELEVEN TEEN OUTREACH EVENTS WITH KEYNOTE SPEAKERS KATE GLADDIN AND TASHA SCHUH. WE VISITED FIVE SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES, INCLUDING PRINCETON, SPRING LAKE PARK, UPSALA AND ZIMMERMAN MINNESOTA. WE REACHED OVER 2,735 STUDENTS THROUGH THESE EVENTS IN 2023 ~THIS YEAR, THUMBS UP PRESENTED TO 18,387 PEOPLE IN 48 PRESENTATIONS. THESE PRESENTATIONS HAPPENED AT LIONS CLUBS, ROTARY CLUBS, NETWORKING MEETINGS, SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY EVENTS, SOCIAL GATHERINGS, AWARD CEREMONIES, AND A HOST OF OTHER EVENS IN CENTRAL AND RURAL MINNESOTA.
