HEALTHY MINDS@WORK - HEALTHY MINDS@WORK IS AN INNOVATIVE PROGRAM THAT TEACHES INDIVIDUAL SKILLS THAT FOSTER AN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE OF ENGAGEMENT AND SUCCESS, SUPPORTING EMPLOYEES AND LEADERS IN ADDRESSING THE UNIQUE CHALLENGES FACING NEXT-STAGE ENTERPRISES. BY BUILDING PERSONAL CAPACITIES FOR AWARENESS, CONNECTION, INSIGHT AND PURPOSE, THE PROGRAM LAYS THE FOUNDATION FOR INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE WELL-BEING, WHICH ARE CRITICAL FOR CREATING ORGANIZATIONS THAT THRIVE AND SUCCEED.
MOBILE MEASURES OF WELL-BEING - WE ARE DEVELOPING A SUITE OF TOOLS TO BE IMPLEMENTED ON A MOBILE DEVICE THAT MEASURE THE FOUR KEY CONSTITUENTS OF WELL-BEING, BASED ON A COMPREHENSIVE NEUROSCIENTIFICALLY GROUNDED FRAMEWORK: AWARENESS, CONNECTION, INSIGHT AND PURPOSE. THESE MOBILE MEASURES WILL HAVE WIDE-SPREAD APPLICABILITY TO ASSESS THE IMPACT OF INTERVENTIONS AND PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO CULTIVATE WELL-BEING.
LOKA INITIATIVE / SYMPOSIUM - THE LOKA INITIATIVE CONTRIBUTES TO WELL-BEING BY SUPPORTING FAITH-LED ENVIRONMENTAL EFFORTS LOCALLY AND AROUND THE WORLD. A SYMPOSIUM WAS HELD IN MAY 2019 AND BROUGHT TOGETHER FAITH LEADERS AND CULTURE KEEPERS FROM DIVERSE RELIGIOUS AND INDIGENOUS TRADITIONS WITH SCIENTISTS, SCHOLARS, POLICY MAKERS, PHILANTHROPISTS, AND EXPERTS. THE THEME WAS "FAITH IN ACTION FOR A FLOURISHING PLANET AND EXAMINED GLOBAL PROGRESS IN ENVIRONMENTAL AND CLIMATE CHANGE STRATEGIES WHILE INVESTIGATING THE POTENTIAL FOR FAITH-LED ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION. THE SYMPOSIUM INTEGRATED SPIRITUAL RESOURCES SUCH AS SCRIPTURE, MEDITATION, SACRAMENT, RITUAL AND SYMBOLIC ART TO SUPPORT THIS EXCHANGE OF FAITH-BASED AND SCIENTIFIC IDEAS AND STRATEGIES.
MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT TRAINING - THE CENTER FOR HEALTHY MINDS AND THE MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT (MPD) COMPLETED A PILOT STUDY TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF MINDFULNESS-BASED PRACTICES ON POLICE OFFICERS' PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELL-BEING. HEALTHY MINDS INNOVATIONS PROVIDED CONSULTATION AND INSTRUCTION FOR THE MINDFULNESS-BASED INTERVENTION.SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS/BUILD THE MOVEMENT - ENGAGE A CRITICAL MASS OF PEOPLE WHO EMBRACE PRACTICES THAT CULTIVATE WELL-BEING AND INSPIRE A GLOBAL SHIFT TOWARD A KINDER, MORE COMPASSIONATE WORLD.UW ATHLETIC PROGRAM: PROVIDED CUSTOMIZED MINDFULNESS-BASED TRAININGSERVICES TO TEAMS, ATHLETES AND COACHES FROM UW-MADISON ATHLETICSPROGRAMS.COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AT UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON PILOT -HEALTHY MINDS INNOVATIONS WORKED WITH THE COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING TOPROVIDE MINDFULNESS TRAINING AS PART OF A PROGRAM INTENDED TO CULTIVATEWELL-BEING WITH ENGINEERING GRADUATE STUDENTS.KINDNESS CURRICULUM - THE CENTER FOR HEALTHY MINDS CREATED AND INVESTIGATED A MINDFULNESS-BASED "KINDNESS CURRICULUM," PUBLISHING RESULTS SUGGESTING ITS POTENTIAL IN INFLUENCING ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE, ALTRUISM AND DELAY OF GRATIFICATION.
