AMURTEL PROVIDES DISASTER RELIEF, AND PARTNERS WITH WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN NEED THROUGH CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMS, INCLUDING MICRO-CREDIT, SELF-HELP GROUPS, LITERACY, HEALTH CARE, CHILD FRIENDLY SPACES, AND MUSIC.

AMURTEL HAITI WORKS WITH ABOUT 2000 WOMEN LIVING IN EXTREME POVERTY, AND FACING CHRONIC FOOD INSECURITY. OUR TEMAS ORGANIZE SELF- HELP AND MICRO-CREDIT GROUPS, HEALTH AND LITERACY PROGRAMS FOR TEENAGE GIRLS, AND TRAINING IN HEALTHY DECISIION MAKING AND NON- VIOLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS. WE RUN FOUR SCHOOLS THAT PROVIDE EDUCATION FOR PRE-K-9TH GRADE, WITH ENROLLMENT OVER 1200 STUDENTS DURING 2023, AMURTEL PROVIDED FOR FREE MEALS DURING THE WEEK FOR CHILDREN FACING EXTREME FOOD INSECURITY AND HUNGER DUE TO THE ONGOING CIVIL UNREST. CAMPS DURING THE SUMMER PROVIDE SAFE PLACES FOR THE CHYILDREN TO BE.

AMURTEL GHANA PROVIDES EDUCATION THROUGH TWO SCHOOLS, SERVING CHILDREN FROM COMMUNITIES FACING EXTREME PROVERTY. MANY OF THE CHILDREN DO NOT HAVE FAMILIES AND LIVE IN OUR CENTERS. HOT MEALS ARE PROVIDED FOR STUDENTS AND THE CHILDREN LIVING IN OUR CENTERS ARE GIVEN FOOD, CLOTHING, MEDICAL CARE, SHELTER AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. WHEN THE CHILDREN REACH ADULTHOOD,THEY ARE GIVEN OPPORTUNITIES TO STUDY IN HIGHER EDUCATION OR TO DEVELOP SKILLS TO WORK IN BUSINESSES THAT ALLOW THEM GREATER INDEPENDENCE.
