THE COALITION FACILITATES STRONG COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN LOCAL AREA GOVERNMENTS, THE PRIVATE SECTOR, AND STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES (APPROX 38 CITIES, 4 COUNTIES, AND 34 OTHER ORGANIZATIONS ARE MEMBERS) IN ORDER TO KEEP ELECTED OFFICIALS, THE PRIVATE SECTOR, THE MEDIA, AND CITIZENS IN THE WESTERN REGION OF THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH METROPLEX INFORMED ABOUT TRANSPORTATION AND AIR QUALITY ISSUES.


THE COALITION SERVES AS A FORUM FOR REGIONAL COLLABORATION AND PLANNING WITH THE WESTERN METROPLEX AND AS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LEADERS TO DISCUSS THE STATUS OF TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS AND AIR QUALITY INITIATIVES.


THE COALITION STRIVES TO BUILD PARTNERSHIPS AND PUBLIC RECOGNITION AND AIMS TO BE INCLUSIVE IN ITS APPROACH. IT HAS OBTAINED MEMBERS OF VARYING SIZES AND HAS EXTENSIVE MEMBERSHIP COVERAGE OVER THE GEOGRAPHIC REGION. IT HAS OBTAINED PARTICIPATION BY PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS IN ADDITION TO COUNTIES, MUNICIPALITIES, AND OTHER GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES.
