IN DOING SO, WE BELIEVE THAT WE WILL SERVE THE BEST INTERESTS OF SOCIETY BY PROTECTING THE TIME-HONORED AMERICAN TRADITION OF ACADEMIC FREEDOM AND TENURE AND SHARED INSTITUTIONAL GOVERNANCE.
