THE ARC OF NORFOLK ADVOCATES FOR THE RIGHTS OF CITIZENS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES. WE OFFER FREE ADVOCACY SERVICES, TOPICAL WORKSHOPS, SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND PROVIDE INFORMATION AND REFERRALS.

PEOPLE FIRST STATE CONVENTION: THIS MULTI DAY CONVENTION OFFERS A WEALTH OF LEADERSHIP AND SELF-ADVOCACY TRAINING. IT ALSO OFFERS A SOCIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR NATURAL FRIENDSHIPS TO DEVELOP. THE ARC OF NORFOLK SPONSORED 2 INTERESTED SELF ADVOCATE TO ATTEND. THE COST WAS $392. THIS COST COVERED THIS INDIVIDUAL'S ATTENDANCE AND STAY.
THE ARC OF NORFOLK HOSTS AN ANNUAL HOLIDAY SOUP SUPPER EVERY DECEMBER FOR SELF-ADVOCATES, FAMILY AND STAFF. THIS IS ONE OF OUR LARGEST EVENTS.
