THE SOUTH DAKOTA ASSOCIATION OF FSA COUNTY OFFICE EMPLOYEES, SDASCOE, IS A STATE AFFILIATE OF NASCOE (NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FSA COUNTY OFFICE EMPLOYEES). SDASCOE MEMBERS ARE EMPLOYEES OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) FARM SERVICE AGENCY (FSA). THE PURPOSE OF NASCOE/SDASCOE IS TO PROMOTE THE WELFARE OF THE ASSOCIATION MEMBERS.EACH INDIVIDUAL MEMBER MUST SHOW IN GOOD FAITH THAT HE OR SHE IS INTERESTED IN THE PURPOSE OF THIS ASSOCIATION. HE OR SHE MUST NOT BE A MEMBER OF AN ORGANIZATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES WHO ASSERTS THE RIGHT TO STRIKE AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES; AND DURING SUCH TIME AS HE OR SHE IS A MEMBER OF THIS ASSOCIATION, MUST NOT BECOME A MEMBER OF AN ORGANIZATION OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES WHO ASSERTS THE RIGHT TO STRIKE AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES; NOR MAY A MEMBER ENGAGE IN A STRIKE AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES. NASCOE OBJECTIVES ARE TO ASSIST IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE TO ASSURE SUCCESSFUL OPERATION OF FSA AND THE ATTAINMENT OF FSAS OBJECTIVES, TO COOPERATE WITH OTHER GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS, TO CONSERVE AND IMPROVE OUR SOIL RESOURCES, TO SECURE EQUITABLE SALARIES, WORKING CONDITIONS, AND RETIREMENT PROVISIONS FOR ALL COUNTY OFFICE EMPLOYEES AND TO PROMOTE THE PROFESSIONALISM OF OUR EMPLOYEES.THE USE OF SDASCOE FUNDS ARE AS FOLLOWS:SECURING BENEFIT OPTIONS FOR MEMBERS NOT ALREADY PROVIDED BY USDA/FSA.PROVIDE RETIREMENT TRAINING AND BENEFITS ANALYSIS TO ASSIST WITH LONG-TERM FINANCIAL PLANNING OF MEMBERSEMPLOYEE AND MEMBER CAREER DEVELOPMENT THROUGH LEADERSHIP SEMINARSPROTECT, ENHANCE, AND PROVIDE CONTINUAL EDUCATION FOR THE FARMER-ELECTED COMMITTEE AND COUNTY OFFICE SYSTEM FOR THE BETTERMENT OF NASCOES MEMBERSHIP, COUNTY OFFICE FSA EMPLOYEES, AND THE AGRICULTURAL COMMUNITIES WE SERVE WHILE WORKING INDEPENDENTLY, BUT COOPERATIVELY, WITH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FARMER-ELECTED COMMITTEES (NAFEC).SUBMIT PROGRAM SUGGESTIONS TO THE STATE AND NATIONAL FSA OFFICES THAT IMPROVES THE MANNER IN WHICH EMPLOYEES CONDUCT THEIR JOBSPROVIDE AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIESMONITOR LEGISLATIVE ACTIONS THAT AFFECT THE MEMBERS AND/OR FSA CUSTOMERS ALONG WITH WORKING WITH THE LEGISLATIVE CONSULTANTS ON POTENTIAL SOLUTIONSNEGOTIATE WITH STATE AND NATIONAL FSA LEADERSHIP ON BEHALF OF MEMBERSHIP
