OUR PRIMARY PURPOSE SHALL BE TO WORK IN A MUTUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CITY OF SUTHERLIN (CITY) TO ASSIST IN THE COORDINATION OF DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE FORD'S POND PROPERTY FOR RECREATIONAL BENEFIT TO THE CITY; AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC CONCERNING THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF OUTDOOR RECREATION AND TO INCREASE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS.

FRIENDS OF FORD'S POND VOLUNTEERS DONATED OVER 2,500 HOURS CONDUCTING THE BUSINESS OF THE NONPROFIT, FUNDRAISING FOR PARK IMPROVEMENTS, GRANT WRITING, DAILY PARK MAINTENANCE, AND PARTICIPATING ON THE FORD'S POND COMMUNITY PARK DESIGN TEAM. THE FRIENDS DESIGNED AND PRODUCED PRINTED BROCHURES, QUARTERLY ONLINE NEWSLETTERS, SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS, AND WEBSITE CONTENT, AND BEGAN PRODUCTION OF A STORYTELLING VIDEO. THE FRIENDS, IN SUPPORT OF A SUTHERLIN FFA CHAPTER COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT, DONATED OVER 1,000 HOURS ON THE RESTORATION OF THE PARK'S HILLSIDE OAK SAVANNA HABITAT. THE FRIENDS CLEARED BRUSH, REMOVED INVASIVE SPECIES, AND CONTRACTED FOR PROFESSIONAL HERBICIDE APPLICATION.
