THE FOUNDATION BOARD REVIEWED OVER 491 LETTERS OF INQUIRY RECEIVED FROM A DIVERSE GROUP OF ORGANIZATIONS, RANGING FROM MAJOR UNIVERSITIES AND HOSPITALS TO SMALL CHILD CARE CENTERS. THE BOARD REQUESTED FULL PROPOSALS FROM 23 OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS AND APPROVED SEVEN FOR A TOTAL OF $315,643. THE PROJECTS THAT WERE FUNDED INCLUDE: FACILITATION OF A GROUP MODEL OF FAMILY NURTURE INTERVENTION; EXAMINATION OF WHETHER AND HOW THE ABI APPROACH INFLUENCES ACADEMIC OUTCOMES; DEVELOPMENT ON AN INNOVATE CURRICULUM TO SUPPORT PLAY SKILLS FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES; HELP OF FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WITH AUTISM AND PSYCHOSOCIAL STRESSORS; PROVIDING AN OPEN ACCESS WEBSITE FOR CHILDREN TO EXPLORE SCIENCE EARLY ON; DEVELOPMENT OF AN INNOVATE INSTRUCTIONAL APPROACH TO PROMOTE THE USE OF ADVANCED ARITHEMTIC; AND ENABLING STUDENTS TO UTILIZE BOTH TEACHER INITIATED AND SELF INITIATED PLAY AND SKILL AREAS.
