DELIVER HEALTHY FOOD TO HUNGRY CHILDREN LIVING IN POOREST AREAS OF THE WORLD.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
IN 2021 WE PROVIDED 904,102 NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES ACROSS BANGLADESH AND THE PHILIPPINES. WITH THE ON-GOING PANDEMIC AND SCHOOLS CLOSED THRIVE PIVOTED FROM DAILY SCHOOL MEALS TO MONTHLY FOOD PACKS FOR THE STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. OUR PACKS NOT ONLY PROVIDED ESSENTIAL NUTRITION BUT SERVED AS INCENTIVE TO EXCHANGE HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS AT FOOD PICK-UP. ACROSS THE REGION YOUNG GIRLS WERE FORCED INTO PREMATURE MARRIAGES BECAUSE THEIR FAMILIES COULD NOT AFFORD TO FEED ALL OF THEIR CHILDREN. TEACHERS AND PARENTS THANKED THRIVE TELLING US THAT OUR FOOD DELIVERIES RELIEVED PRESSURE ON FAMILIES PREVENTED CHILDHOOD MARRIAGES AND MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR THEIR DAUGHTERS TO STAY HOME WITH THEIR FAMILIES. THRIVE DOUBLED ITS NUMBER OF MONTHLY DONORS AND ENDED THE YEAR WITH 3.5 MONTHS OF RESERVES.
