DEAR WORLD MADE A STAND TO NOT ONLY CELEBRATE JUNETEENTH AS A NATIONAL HOLIDAY AND HAVE FIREWORKS BUT THEY HAVE DECIDED TO MAKR THE DAY BY INVESTING IN A BLACK ARTIST TO CREATE ART. THIS REMOVES THE NOTION OF CHARITY AND DELIVERS DIRECT IMPACT IN THE FORM OF CASH TO AN ARTIST TO DO WHAT THEY DO BESTTHE FIRST ARTIST WHO RECEIVED THE JUNETEENTH ARTIST INVESTMENT WAS KATAALYST ALCINDOR. KAT RECEIVED AT LEAST $2,500 CREATIVE DIRECTION FEE TO ADAPT HIS POEM GATES OF TOIL INTO A SHORT VIDEO SHOT IN NEW ORLEANS LAST SUMMER. IN RESPONSE TO THE OPPORTUNITY, KAT SAID: WHEN I WAS APPROACHED WITH THIS OPPORTUNITY I WAS DEEPLY HUMBLED.
