Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE STAIR PROGRAM TYPICALLY RUNS OCTOBER THROUGH MAY, BUT DUE TO COVID WE WERE NOT ABLE TO RETURN IN PERSON TO OUR SCHOOLS UNTIL FEBRUARY 2022 WHEN WE RE-ESTABLISHED THE PROGRAM IN SIX SCHOOLS. WE IMMEDIATELY SAW AND BEGAN TO ADDRESS THE SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENT GAP IN MANY OF OUR STUDENTS DUE TO INACCESSIBILITY OF IN-PERSON LEARNING DURING THE PANDEMIC. IN ADDITION TO OUR IN-PERSON TUTORING, WE CONTINUED THE MOST IMPACTFUL ELEMENTS OF OUR COVID-19 CONTINUITY PROGRAM, STAIR AT HOME, INCLUDING ONLINE PROGRAMMING FOR ALL STAIR FAMILY MEMBERS HTTPS://STAIRANNAPOLIS.ORG/FORFAMILIES/. WE ALSO SUPPRTED THE AACPS READING SPECIALISTS AS THEY WORK IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH DEVELOPING READERS EVERYDAY WITH OUR SEASONAL STAIR BOOK BUNDLES PROGRAM, FEATURING DIVERSE BOOKS FOR YOUNG READERS TO HELP BUILD STUDENTS' HOME LIBRARIES AND INSPIRE THEM ON THEIR READING JOURNEY. EACH BUNDLE CONTAINED AN AMAZING ASSORTMENT OF BRAND NEW BOOKS WRAPPED IN A COLORFUL RIBBON AND WITH A PERSONALIZED GIFT TAG. DURING THE SUMMER WE ALSO SENT BOOK BUNDLES DIRECTLY TO INDIVIDUAL STAIR STUDENTS WITH 5-7 NEW BOOKS IN EACH PACKET.
