DOG STAR RESCUE - DOG STAR RESCUE IS AN ALL-VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION. UNDER ITS PRIMARY PROGRAM, IN 2021 DOG STAR RESCUE PLACED 850 ABANDONED, SHELTER AND OWNER SURRENDERED DOGS OF ALL AGES, BREEDS AND NEEDS IN LIFELONG HOMES. DOG STAR MATCHES DOGS WITH QUALIFIED ADOPTORS AND EDUCATES THEM ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES AND COSTS OF PROVIDING A LOVING HOME TO RESCUED DOGS. DOG STAR PROVIDES NECESSARY BEHAVIOR SUPPORT AND MEDICAL CARE WHICH INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT ALWAYS LIMITED TO SPAYING AND NEUTERING SERVICES FOR RESCUED DOGS. THROUGH A VARIETY OF TEAMS, INCLUDING INTAKE, TRANSPORT, FUNDRAISING, ADOPTION EVENTS, FOSTERING, MARKETING, SCREENING, AND IT DOG STAR OFFERS MEANINGFUL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE.
CT DOG GONE RECOVERY (CTDGR) CTDGR IS AN ALL-VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION SPECIALIZING IN HELPING OWNERS REUNITE WITH THEIR MISSING DOGS IN CONNECTICUT. IN 2021, CTDGR RECOVERED 629 DOGS (82% RECOVERY RATE) REPORTED TO CTDGR BY THEIR OWNERS. CTDGR SERVICES, WHICH ARE PROVIDED AT NO COST, INCLUDE CONSULTATION, EDUCATING OWNERS ON LOST PET BEHAVIOR, CREATING A RECOVERY ACTION PLAN, ADVISING AND ASSISTING EFFECTIVE POSTER DESIGN & PLACEMENT, CREATING LOST DOG VIDEOS AND NETWORKING ONLINE IN ORDER TO REACH OUT TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. CTDGR WILL LOAN DOG RECOVERY EQUIPMENT, ASSIST WITH SEARCH SETUPS AND PROVIDE RESOURCES TO AID IN CAPTURING DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE. CTDGR ASSISTS WITH POSTERS AND BOOTS ON THE GROUND DOG SEARCHING. THIS SERVICE IS PROVIDED AT NO COST ALONG WITH BEING A SUPPORT SYSTEM RESOURCE.
DOG STAR 4 VETERANS (DS4V) - THIS PROGRAM IS DEVOTED TO MATCHING QUALIFIED VETERAN SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN WITH DESERVING HOMELESS DOGS THEREBY PROVIDING EACH WITH A REWARDING LIFE EXPERIENCE. THE MATCHMAKING IS COMPLETED BY PAIRING VETERANS WITH SELECTED AND EVALUATED RESCUE DOGS BASED ON THE VETERAN'S PERSONALITY AND LIFESTYLE TO MAKE THE PERFECT MATCH. THE COMPANION DOGS HAVE THE ABILITY TO ASSIST VETERANS BY IMPROVING MENTAL WELL-BEING BY MOTIVATING VETERANS TO GET OUT IN THE WORLD THEREBY ENHANCING DISABLED VETERANS TRANSITION INTO CIVILIAN LIFE. THE OVERALL MISSION OF DS4V IS TO BE A VETERAN DEDICATED PROGRAM FOCUSED ON MATCHING SPECIALLY IDENTIFIED RESCUE DOGS TO BE COMPANIONS AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOGS, AND TO HELP HEAL ANY EMOTIONAL WOUNDS OF THE VETERAN.
