ARTS ON DIVISION PROMOTES THE ARTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES IN SOMERVILLE AND SOMERSET COUNTY NEW JERSEY. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE SPONSORING ART GALLERIES, MUSIC, GRAPHIC AND PERFORMING ARTS.

ARTS ON DIVISION PAYS ARTISTS TO PAINT MEMORIAL MURALS ON BUILDINGS IN SOMERVILLE. THE SOURCE OF REVENUE IS ALL VOLUNTEER PUBLIC CONTRIBUTIONS.


ARTS FESTIVAL AND POP UP GALERIES PROVIDE A FORUM FOR LOCAL ATRISTS TO DISPLAY AND SELL THEIR ARTWORK. IT ALSO PROVIDES A VENUE FOR ARTISTS SUCH AS PAINTERS, POTTERS AND WELDERS TO CREATE ARTWORK IN PUBLIC ON DIVISION STREET. THE POP UP GALERIES TAKE PLACE IN VARIED LOCATIONS SUCH AS RESTAURANTS AND VACANT STORE FRONTS. IT IS ALL FREE TO THE PUBLIC.


THE JAZZ FESTIVAL IS A 3 DAY EVENT THAT INCLUDES PERFORMANCES IN 3 COMMUNITIES. IT CULMINATES WITH AN AFTERNOON LONG EVENT IN SOMERVILLE THAT SHOWCASES MANY TALENTED MUSICIANS AND DRAWS OVER 10,000 SPECTATORS. IT IS FREE TO THE PUBLIC.
