THE YOUNG MARINES NATIONAL FOUNDATION FINANCIALLY SUPPORTS THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS OF THE YOUNG MARINES: 1. DRUG DEMAND REDUCTION EFFORTS - THE YOUNG MARINES PARTICIPATE IN YEAR ROUND, ONGOING TRAINING AND ACTIVITIES TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND HEALTH ALTERNATIVES TO ALL FORMS OF SUBSTANCE ABUSE. 2. REPSONSIBLE CITIZENS - THE YOUNG MARINES PARTICIPATE IN YEAR ROUND ONGOING VOLUNTEER EFFORTS TO PAY TRIBUTE TO VETERANS, RESTORE OPEN SPACES AND CONTRIBUTE TO PEOPLE IN NEED. 3. RED RIBBON WEEK - THE YOUNG MARINES NATIONAL CAMPAIGN INCLUDES HELPING ALL AMERICANS COME TOGETHER TO KEEP CHILDREN, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES SAFE, HEALTHY AND DRUG-FREE THROUGH PARENT TRAINING AND NETWORKING. YOUNG MARINES UNITS ACROSS AMERICA PARTICIPATE EVERY YEAR IN RED RIBBON WEEK BY TEACHING PEER TO PEER CLASSES AND BEING A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL. 4. VETERANS APPRECIATION WEEK - FOR ONE WEEK IN NOVEMBER EACH YEAR, YOUNG MARINES UNITS ACROSS THE COUNTRY CELEBRATE YOUNG MARINES VETERANS APPRECIATE WEEK. THE PURPOSE OF THE CAMPAIGN IS TO CHALLENGE OUR YOUNG MARINES TO DEDICATE SOME OF THEIR TIME TO HELP OUR NATIONS'S VETERANS AND TO DEMONSTRATE, THROUGH THEIR ACTIONS, THEIR SINCERE APPRECIATION FOR OUR VETERAN'S SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. 5. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT - FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS PROVIDED TO YOUNG MARINES RELATED TO THEIR NATIONAL LEADERSHIP ACADEMY.
