SHADES OF PINK FOUNDATION CALIFORNIA PROVIDES SHORT TERM FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO WOMEN IN CALIFORNIA IN ACTIVE BREAST CANCER TREATMENT WHO ARE STRUGGLING TO MEET BASIC LIVING EXPENSES. MANY WOMEN UNDERGOING BREAST CANCER TREATMENT FACE COMPLETE LOSS OR SEVERELY REDUCED INCOME DURING TREATMENT AND OUR FOUNDATION SERVES TO HELP THESE WOMEN THROUGH MONETARY GRANTS TO PAY FOR FOOD, GAS RENT, ELECTRICITY AND OTHER BASIC LIVING NECESSITIES. WE HAVE FOUND THAT THE TEMPORARY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SHADES OF PINK FOUNDATION CALIFORNIA IS ABLE TO PROVIDE TO OUR GRANT RECIPIENTS ALLEVIATES SOME OF THE FINANCIAL STRESSES THAT SURROUNDS BREAST CANCER AND ALLOWS OUR GRANT RECIPIENTS TO FOCUS ON HEALING. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED MARCH 31, 2022, SHADES OF PINK FOUNDATION CALIFORNIA AWARDED 78 INDIVIDUAL GRANTS TOTALING $38,520. THE AVERAGE AGE OF RECIPIENTS WAS 50 YEARS OLD. OF WOMEN RECEIVING GRANTS, 33% REPORTED HAVING MINOR CHILDREN AT HOME. THE GRANTS COVERED A RANGE OF BASIC LIVING EXPENSES INCLUDING RENT, MORTGAGE PAYMENTS, HMO DUES, GAS, CAR PAYMENTS, INSURANCE AND UTILITIES. THE RECIPIENTS LIVED THROUGHOUT SAN DIEGO COUNTY: OCEANSIDE, FALLBROOK, ALPINE, JAMUL, SPRING VALLEY, ENCINITAS, IMPERIAL BEACH, EL CAJON AND SAN DIEGO.
