NEW ORLEANS CULINARY & HOSPITALITY INSTITUTE, INC OPERATES AS A WORLD-CLASS, POST-SECONDARY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL FOR THE CULINARY AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY, WITH INSTRUCTIONAL FACILITIES THAT INCLUDE TWO CULINARY LABS, TWO BAKING AND PASTRY LABS, A BEVERAGE LAB, A DINING LAB, A FOOD SCIENCE AND SENSORY LAB, AND GENERAL CLASSROOM SPACES.THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS TWO CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS IN THE CULINARY FIELD THAT COMPRISE THE PRIMARY PROGRAM SERVICES. GRADUATES OF THE NOCHI CULINARY ARTS CERTIFICATE AND NOCHI BAKING AND PASTRY ARTS CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS ARE EXPECTED TO LEARN THE BASIC FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS THAT ARE CRITICAL TO A PRODUCTION-ORIENTED PROFESSIONAL COOK OR BAKER. REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT - TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION BY NOCHI REAL ESTATE OF A WORLD-CLASS, POST-SECONDARY VOCATIONAL SCHOOL FOR THE CULINARY AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY AS PART OF A NEW MARKETS TAX CREDIT TRANSACTION.
PUMP (PATHWAYS TO UPWARD MOBILITY), A PROGRAM MEANT TO ELEVATE CAREERS IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY FOR THE BIPOC (BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND PEOPLE OF COLOR) GRADUATED ITS INAUGURAL COHORT IN EARLY OCTOBER, AFTER A DELAYED START DUE TO HURRICANE IDA. PARTICIPATION IS FREE AND THE LAUNCH WAS FUNDED WITH A GRANT FROM DIAGEO NORTH AMERICA. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ALLOW INDIVIDUALS TO CONTINUE WORKING WHILE PARTICIPATING AND WILL TRACK SUCCESS OF INDIVIDUALS ONCE THEY COMPLETE THE PROGRAM WHILE PROVIDING ONGOING MENTORSHIP AND RESOURCES. DURING 2022, 45 BIPOC STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED IN THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM.NOCHI HOSTED SEVERAL CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE NOCHI WINE PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM, DESIGNED TO TEACH HOSPITALITY PROFESSIONALS OF ALL LEVELS WINE PROFICIENCY WITH A 21-HOUR CERTIFICATION.
