FRESH FOOD ACCESS GRANT. WITH THIS GRANT WE BUILT OUR URBAN FARM AND OUTDOOR LEARNING CENTER IN NEWARK NJ. WE USED THIS GRANT TO PURCHASE LUMBER, SOIL, FERTILIZERS, IRRIGATION SYSTEMS AND SEEDS. THROUGH 2020 WE INSTALLED RAISED BEDS, IRRIGATION TANKS AND HOSES, PLANTED AND HARVESTED. APPROXIMATELY 15 FAMILIES WERE DIRECTLY BENEFITED AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL PEOPLE THAT RECEIVED PRODUCE THROUGH OUR MUTUAL AID NETWORKS . WE ALSO HARVESTED AND PRESERVED MEDICINAL HERBS FOR DISTRIBUTION.
