WMPLC OFFERS REGIONAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS (FACE-TO-FACE, ONLINE, AND IN A BLENDED FORMAT) IN WESTERN MONTANA AND THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF MONTANA. WE CURRENTLY SERVE 826 SCHOOLS, 703 ADMINISTRATORS, 10,686 CERTIFIED STAFF AND 145,634 STUDENTS.THE AUGUST INSTITUTE IS ONE OF THE MANY EVENTS WMPLC OFFERS DURING THE YEAR WHICH FOCUSES ON TEACHING AND LEARNING THROUGH TECHNOLOGY. DURING 2022, 160 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE EVENT; 50 IN PERSON AND 110 ONLINE. IN 2022, WE OFFERED AN ADVANCED PLACEMENT ONLINE CONFERENCE. 46 PEOPLE REGISTERED FOR 5 DIFFERENT AP COURSES. THE EVENT SPANNED FOUR DAYS (JUNE 20-23, 2022).WE OFFERED 62 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN 2022. WMPLC CONTINUED TO OFFER INDIAN EDUCATION FOR ALL ONLINE COURSES AND WE ALSO OFFERED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT USING THE GO GRANT WE RECEIVED.ON OCTOBER 13, 2022, WESTERN MONTANA PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COLLABORATIVE (WMPLC) PARTNERED WITH THE MONTANA SMALL SCHOOL ALLIANCE (MSSA) TO RECEIVE AND MANAGE $1,000,000 IN FEDERAL FUNDING (OVER THREE YEARS) TO INCREASE THE EQUITY OF STUDENT SERVICES FOR RURAL, TRIBAL, AND FRONTIER SCHOOLS ACROSS THE STATE OF MONTANA. THE WMPLC/MSSA PARTNERSHIP AIMS TO SERVE NEARLY 150 SMALL SCHOOL AND FRONTIER MEMBER DISTRICTS, AS WELL AS TRIBAL SCHOOLS, BY PROVIDING COUNSELING SUPPORT, MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES, AND PROVEN VIOLENCE PREVENTION TOOLS DESPERATELY NEEDED BY STUDENTS, STAFF, AND FAMILIES ACROSS MONTANA. THE GRANT WILL HELP FUND INCREASED ACCESS TO BASIC NEEDS RESOURCES, TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE, SCHOOL COUNSELORS, E-THERAPY ASSESSMENTS, AND TREATMENT.
