TEXAS GUN SENSE IS A STATEWIDE NONPARTISAN ORGANIZATION ADVOCATING TO PREVENT GUN VIOLENCE. SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND SUCCESSES INCLUDE: PLANNING FOR AND PROMOTING SENSIBLE GUN POLICY DURING THE 2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION, LEADING OUR COALITION, WORKING CLOSELY WITH LAWMAKERS AND ALLIES, EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON SAFE GUN STORAGE, AND ENGAGING VOLUNTEERS AND SUPPORTERS.

IN 2021, TEXAS GUN SENSE ADVOCATED FOR COMMON-SENSE, EVIDENCE-BASED POLICIES THAT REDUCE GUN INJURIES AND DEATHS. WE DID THIS THROUGH LEADING A COALITION OF ORGANIZATIONS WITH AN INTEREST IN GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION, LEADING EFFORTS DURING THE 2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION, AND ENGAGING THE MEDIA, STAKEHOLDERS, AND SUPPORTERS. WE PROVIDED TESTIMONY, NUMEROUS MEDIA APPEARANCES, AND IN-DEPTH POLICY WORK WITH LAWMAKERS. WE LED AND WORKED WITH OTHERS ON EDUCATING STAKEHOLDERS ON SAFE GUN STORAGE AND GUN VIOLENCE PREVENTION POLICY.
