UNITE AND SUPPORT MONTANA'S COMMUNITY-BASED CONSERVATION NETWORKS TO PROMOTE HEALTHY AND PRODUCTIVE WATERSHEDS.

MWCC PROVIDES RESOURCES, FUNDING, TRAINING, COORDINATION, AND CONNECTION THAT SUPPORT LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION EFFORTS IN MONTANA'S WATERSHEDS. MWCC PARTNERS WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND PRIVATE ENTITIES TO SUPPORT A NETWORK OF MORE THAN 50 WATERSHED-BASED CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS IN THE STATE. MWCC PROVIDES FUNDING, TRAINING, RESOURCES, AND CONNECTIONS THAT SUPPORT LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION INITIATIVES IN MONTANA'S WATERSHEDS. MWCC COORDINATES WITHFEDERAL, STATE, AND PRIVATE PARTNERS TO SUPPORT CONSERVATION IMPACTS WITHIN A NETWORK OF MORE THAN 50 WATERSHED CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS IN THE STATE. IN 2021, MWCC HOSTED AN ANNUAL MEETING WITH 150 CONSERVATION LEADERS REPRESENTING ALL CORNERS OF MONTANA, AND DEVELOPED A NEW MONTHLY PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING AND EDUCATION EVENT FOR CONSERVATION LEADERS. ADDITIONALLY, MWCC SUPPORTED ORGANIZATIONS PARTICIPATING IN THE BIG SKY WATERSHED CORPS PROGRAM WHICH HOSTED 34 MEMBERS AND PROVIDED 58,000 SERVICE HOURS TO SUPPORT CONSERVATION IN MONTANA. MWCC ALSO SUB-GRANTED MORE THAN $207,000 THROUGH ITS WATERSHED FUND THROUGH 37 GRANTS TO LOCAL CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS. THESE GRANTS INCLUDED: CAPACITY GRANTS ($36,930), PROJECT GRANTS($167,701), AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS ($3,065). THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROMOTED THE SUCCESSES OF MONTANAS CONSERVATION COMMUNITY BY PRESENTING THREE RECIPIENTS WITH ITS WATERSHED STEWARDSHIP AWARD, AND SUPPORTING OUTREACH INITIATIVES SUCH AS THE LIFE IN THE LAND FILM SERIES.
