NORTH SHORE MONTESSORI SCHOOL IS A CERTIFIED ASSOCIATION MONTESSORI INTERNATIONAL (AMI) SCHOOL, TEACHING A PROGRESSIVE, SUBJECT-INTEGRATED CURRICULUM TO CHILDREN AGES 2-14, PRESCHOOL THROUGH GRADE 8. DURING THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR, NSMS HAD 44 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE PRIMARY PROGRAM FOR AGES 2-6, AND 33 IN GRADES 1-8. THE PROGRAM IS FURTHER ENRICHED WITH AN INTEGRATED SPANISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURES PROGRAM, A ROBUST NATURAL PLAYSCAPE, GARDENS FOR GROWING FOOD AND FLOWERS, BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CARE AND AFTERNOON CLUBS. WHILE MANY SCHOOLS DELIVERED CURRICULUM VIRTUALLY DURING THE 2020/2021 SCHOOL YEAR DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, NORTH SHORE MONTESSORI SCHOOL HELD ALL CLASSES IN-PERSON WITH COVID PRECAUTIONS IN PLACE INCLUDING REDUCING CLASS SIZES, DIVIDING INTO COHORTS, WEARING MASKS, SCREENING CHILDREN DAILY, AND SANITIZING HANDS AND MATERIALS OFTEN.
