EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION FOR AGES 3 -6. THE CHILDREN ARE GIVEN INDEPENDENT CHOICES OVER HOW THEY WILL SPEND THEIR TIME. THEY ARE SHOWN HOW TO CREATE MANY FORMS OF ART, PREPARE FOOD, USE SIMPLE TOOLS YTHAT IMPROVE THEIR MOTOR SKILLS, STUDY PLANTS AND ANIMALS, AND BUILD STRUCTURES. THET ARE GIVEN LESSONS INDIVIDUALLY THAT IMPROVE THEIR ACADEMIC SKILLS. THEY ALSO SPEND SEVERAL HOURS A DAY IN OUTSIDE PLAY AND NATURE EXPOLRATION. THE CHILDREN ARE GUIDED IN ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING BY HIGHLY TRAINED EDUCATORS.
ELEMENTARY EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN 6 -10. THE CHILDREN PARTICIPATE IN LESSONS INDIVIDUALLY AND IN SMALL GROUPS BASED ON THEIR SKILL LEVEL AND INTERESTS AND THEN DEVELOP THEIR OWN FOLLOW-UP PROJECTS WITH GUIDANCE OF THEIR TEACHER. THE CHILDREN DEVELOP REAL WORLD SKILLS BY BAKING, HANDWORK OR WOODWORKING AS WELL AS PLANNING THEIR OWN FIELD TRIPS. THE MAJORITY OF THE WORK IN THE ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM USES HANDS-ON MATERIALS AND EMPHASIZES COLLABORATION AND PEACEFULL SOCIAL INTERACTIONS.
PARENT EDUCATION. HPM OFFERS PARENT WORKSHOPS MONTHLY TO PROVIDE CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL GUIDANCE SO THAT PARENTS CAN BE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN THEIR CHILD'S LEARNING EXPERIENCE. HPM FURTHER CONNECTS WITH PARENTS THROUGH WEEKLY EMAIL, PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL RESOURCESTHROUGH THE WEBSITE, AND BRINGS PARENTS TOGETHER IN SEVERAL SCHOOL COMMUNITY EVENTS EACH YEAR.
