WINTER PROGRAMS - WINTER PROGRAMS ARE THE FOUNDATION OF THE ORGANIZATION. THROUGH SKIING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES, OUR PROGRAMS BREAK DOWN THE CULTURAL AND FINANCIAL BARRIERS THAT KEEP KIDS ISOLATED AND INDOORS. 320 PARTICIPANTS JOINED COOMBS OUTDOORS FOR WINTER PROGRAMS. 206 CHILDREN LEARNED TO SKI WITH COOMBS OUTDOORS, 123 SKIED WITH MENTORS SKI AND SNOW BOARD PROGRAMS, 15 STUDENDS PARTICIPATED IN THE AFTER SCHOOL NORDIC SKIING PROGRAM.
SUMMER PROGRAMS - 160 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED IN SUMMER PROGRAMS. 83 CHILDREN FROM K-5TH EACH RECD 3 WEEKS OF SUMMER CAMP WHERE THEY HIKED, BIKED, SWAM, BOATED, CAMP OVERNIGHT IN GRANT TETON NATL PARK AND LEARNED ABOUT THE NATURAL WORLD AROUND THEM. 60 MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN GRADES 6TH-10TH RECD BETWEEN 2-3 WEEKS OF SUMMER CAMP WHERE THEY FOCUSED ON BUILDING OUTDOOR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES LIKE MTN BIKING, KAYAKING, HIKING, AND OVERNIGHT BACKPACKING TRIPS. CAMPERS WENT ON A TOTAL OF 21 NIGHTS OF BACKPACKING WITH A FOCUS ON TRIP PREPARATION, NAVIGATIONAL SKILLS, AND LEARNING TO LEAVE NO TRACE PRACTICES. 14 HS STUDENTS WERE A PART OF THE NEW EMPOWER PROGRAM WHERE THEY WORKED FOR 10 WEEKS INTERNSHIAT AN INTERNSHIP AND ATTENDED PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS WORKSHOPS ORGANIZED AND HOSTED BY COOMBS OUTDOORS.
MENTOR PROGRAMS - THE MENTOR AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FACILITATES REGULAR AND PRODUCTIVE MEETINGS BETWEEN STUDENTS AND MENTORS. 60 MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MET WEEKLY IN MENTOR GROUPS FOR LEARNING, GROWING AND SOCIAL TIME. PROGRAM STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE STRONG ADULT ROLE MODELS AND FACILITATE PEER LEARNING. AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS - 26 ELEMENTARY STUDENTS IN GRADE K-5 ATTENDED AFTER SCHOOL OUTDOORS PROGRAMS IN WHICH THEY HIKED, ATTENDED WORKSHOPS WITH LOCAL PARTNERS, AND SPEND VALUABLE TIME OUTSIDE AND AWAY FROM SCREENS.
