BUSINESS AND PROJECT PARTNER ENGAGEMENT: WE CONTINUE TO ENGAGE WITH BUSINESSES TO BUILD SUPPORT FOR AVOIDED DEFORESTATION PROJECTS. THE FOCUS BEING ON TECHNICAL CONSULTANCY ON INDEPENDENT STANDARDS AND VERIFICATION FOR AVOIDED DEFORESTATION, AS WELL AS DETAILS OF COMPARATIVE BENEFITS WITH OTHER CLIMATE MITIGATION PROJECTS. IN TURN, WE CONTINUED TO SUPPORT OUR PROJECT PARTNERS WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE LATEST TRENDS IN BUSINESS SUPPORT FOR NATURE-BASED CLIMATE SOLUTIONS. THOUGH THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC PROHIBITED NORMAL ACTIVITIES SUCH AS CONFERENCE ATTENDANCES, ENGAGEMENT AND SUPPORT FROM BUSINESSES FOR AVOIDED DEFORESTATION GENERALLY STILL GREW. TRADITIONALLY OUR BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT HAS BEEN LARGELY WITH LARGE COMPANIES. WE ADDED A NEW ONLINE SERVICE FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED BUSINESSES TO MEASURE THEIR GREENHOUSE GAS FOOTPRINT AND REVIEW DIFFERENT STRATEGIES AND COSTS FOR REDUCING THEIR FOOTPRINT AND SUPPORTING FOREST PROJECTS TO OFFSET THE ELEMENTS THEY CAN NOT REDUCE WE ALSO WERE ABLE TO ATTEND A NUMBER OF IN-PERSON EVENTS AND CONFERENCES AGAIN.
PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT : WE CONTINUED TO DEVELOP OUR ONLINE PLATFORM STANDFORTREES.ORG, AND SUPPORTING SOCIAL MEDIA, TO ENGAGE AND EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS ON DEFORESTATION AND CLIMATE CHANGE. WE ADDED ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE VERSIONS OF SPANISH AND PORTUGUESE FOR THE WEBSITE AND ADDED SPANISH LANGUAGE SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS. WE CONTINUED TO PRODUCE INNOVATIVE AND HIGH-QUALITY DIGITAL CONTENT, WITH AN IMPORTANT DOCUMENTARY RELEASE - SONIC FOREST WHICH WAS SUPPORTED BY A SHORT-FORM VIDEO AND SPECIAL OUTREACH CAMPAIGN. ALTHOUGH SUCCESSFUL THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC LED TO A DIFFICULT OPERATING ENVIRONMENT AND HELD BACK PERFORMANCE.
