SAFE SCHOOL DESERT CITIES WORKS DIRECTLY WITH THE GAY STRAIGHT ALLIANCES (GSAS) AT 14 HIGH SCHOOLS AND 2 MIDDLE SCHOOLS IN THE DESERT AREA. EACH YEAR SSDC PRESENTS PRIDE PROM (300 LGBTQI YOUTH ATTENDED) AND A RAINBOW YOUTH SUMMIT (APPROXIMATELY 150 PARTICIPATED). OTHER EVENTS, PLANNED BY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, ARE ATTENDED BY OUR LGBTQI MEMBERS. THESE INCLUDE: SAN DIEGO PRIDE PARADE AND FESTIVAL PALM SPRINGS PRIDE PARADE YOUTH ZONE AT PALM SPRINGS PRIDE AN LGBTQI INFORMATION BOOTH AT THE INDIO TAMALE FESTIVAL THE HARVEY MILK DAY BREAKFAST BUS TOURS TO LOS ANGELES AREA TO VISIT USC LGBT PRIDE CENTER VISIT TO RANCHO MIRAGE MUSEUM OF TOLERANCE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE PRIDE PROM, ALL EVENTS ARE FREE TO PARTICIPANTS INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION.
