FOR THE 2019 SESSION THE PROGRAM WAS CANCELLED DO TO COVID-19 RESTRICTION ON PUBLIC GATHERINGS. THE AMERICAN LEGION'S BOYS' STATE PROGRAM WHICH IS A UNIQUE SUMMERTIME EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM THAT DOES NOT EMPHASIZE CLASSROOM LECTURES AND TEXTBOOK LEARNING. INSTEAD, THE PROGRAM HAS FOCUSED ON PARTICIPATION AND PERSONAL EXPERIENCE IN A MODEL STATE, COMPLETE WITH GOVERNING BODIES, POLITICAL PARTIES, LOBBYISTS, AND ELECTED PUBLIC OFFICIALS WHICH IN ITS DESIGN MIRROR THE STRUCTURE AND OPERATION OF THE NEVADA STATE GOVERNMENT.
