Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
TLC PARTNERS WITH SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND OTHER YOUTH AGENCIES TO DELIVER OUR PROPRIETARY SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL) CURRICULUM, "I AM ME". OUR FACILITATORS GO DIRECTLY TO THE STUDENTS, SUPPLEMENTING EXISTING HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN A 36-UNIT, FULL SEMESTER AND ON-SITE FORMAT. SEL EQUIPS ADOLESCENTS WITH NECESSARY COPING SKILLS, MOTIVATION AND PURPOSE. STUDENTS EMERGE WITH MENTAL HEALTH RESILIENCE AND DISCOVER BETTER WAYS TO COMMUNICATE, ENGAGE WITH OTHERS AND BUILD SELF-MANAGEMENT TOOLS TO HELP ACHIEVE THEIR SOCIAL AND LIFE GOALS. DURING 2021-22, WE DELIVERED OUR "I AM ME" PROGRAM TO 3,367 STUDENTS (AN INCREASE OF 33% FROM PRIOR YEAR) IN 117 COHORTS. SINCE 2012, WE HAVE TRAINED OVER 13,000 STUDENTS AND 187 EDUCATORS, ADMINISTRATORS AND HEALTH-RELATED PROFESSIONALS.
TLC RECOGNIZED THE CHALLENGES THAT SCHOOL DISTRICT STAFF AND TEACHERS ENCOUNTERED DURING THE PANDEMIC AND RESPONDED. DURING MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK, WE GRANTED 1,000 TO 21 SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO BE USED AT THEIR DISCRETION TO HELP STRENGTHEN MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO THEIR STUDENTS. WE PROVIDED STIPENDS TO 98 TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, SOCIAL WORKERS, COUNSELORS, PSYCHOLOGISTS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS FOR COMPLETING OUR EDUCATOR CERTIFICATION TRAINING AT UC-IRVINE OVER A THREE-DAY PERIOD. IT WAS WELL-RECEIVED AND RESULTED IN MANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND/OR EDUCATORS EXPRESSING INTEREST IN IMPLEMENTING "I AM ME" IN THE FUTURE. AS A RESULT, WE TRAINED 117 TOTAL PROFESSIONALS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, A 53% INCREASE.
TLC PURCHASED A 7-PASSENGER VAN TO HELP TRANSPORT OUR FACILITATORS AND PROGRAM MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY TO THE TRAINING SITES. AS OUR PROGRAM REACH EXPANDS THROUGHOUT THE AREA, A COMPANY VEHICLE HELPS IMPROVE PASSENGER SAFETY, DECREASE MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT COSTS AND ACCELERATES MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION.
