IN 2013, THE PRAIRIE RIDGE FOUNDATION (PRF) STARTED THE PROCESS OF FUNDRAISING WITH THE GOAL OF PARTNERING WITH AND SUPPORTING PRAIRIE RIDGE HOSPITAL AND HEALTH SERVICES (PRHHS) IN ITS MISSION OF "SERVING THE HEALTHCARE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE." THIS FUNDRAISING WAS DONE THROUGH AN EMPLOYEE CAMPAIGN AS WELL AS A PUBLIC CAMPAIGN.
IN 2014, PRF CREATED A DISREGARDED ENTITY, PRAIRIE RIDGE FITNESS, LLC, TO OWN AND OPERATE A COMMUNITY FITNESS CENTER. PRAIRIE RIDGE FITNESS STARTED OPERATIONS IN 2015. PRAIRIE RIDGE FITNESS IS THE ONLY FITNESS CENTER AVAILABLE IN ELBOW LAKE, MN. THROUGH THE CHNA CONDUCTED BY PRHHS, A FITNESS CENTER WAS AN IDENTIFIED COMMUNITY NEED. PRAIRIE RIDGE FITNESS OFFERS CARDIO, STRENGTH TRAINING, CLASSES, PERSONAL TRAINING, AND IS OPEN 24/7. WE OFFER A VARIETY OF CLASSES TO FIT THE NEEDS OF EVERYONE FROM BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED AND FROM THE YOUNG TO SENIORS. PRAIRIE RIDGE FITNESS WORKS WITH MANY INSURANCE COMPANIES AND PARTICIPATES IN THEIR DISCOUNT PROGRAMS. WE WORK WITH PUBLIC HEALTH AND THE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS FOR THOSE WHO MAY NOT AFFORD IT. WE ALSO WORK WITH THE DIABETIC AND PHYSICAL THERAPY PROGRAMS AT PRHHS TO ENSURE THESE PATIENTS CAN ACCESS THE FITNESS CENTER.
