GREAT MILWAUKEE VICTORY GARDEN BLITZ: EACH YEAR THE ORGANIZATION RALLIES TO INSTALL RAISED GARDEN BEDS THROUGHOUT MILWAUKEE COUNTY IN BACKYARDS, SCHOOLS, PLACES OF WORSHIP, BUSINESSES, VACANT LOTS AND MORE. YEP! - YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAM: THE ORGANIZATIONS RUNS A YEAR-ROUND, HANDS-ON GARDEN BASED PROGRAMMING FOR YOUTH IN THE TARGET NEIGHBORHOODS OF HARAMBEE AND RIVERWEST. IN ADDITION, VICTORY GARDEN RUNS AFTER SCHOOL GARDEN CLUBS, SUMMER AGRICORPS, FARM FIELD TRIPS AND EARN AND LEARN PROGRAMMING AT THE URBAN FARM CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY PARTNER LOCATIONS. ADULT EDUCATION: THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS. TOPICS VARY BUT INCLUDE THINGS SUCH AS COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS, COMPOSTING 101, BEEKEEPING, FERMENTATION, HERBAL TEAS, RAISED BED GARDENING AND MORE. THE WORKSHOPS ARE A LOW-COST OPTION TO HELP COMMUNITY MEMBERS LEARN TO ENGAGE WITH THE LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM.
