2021/2020 THERE WAS A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK, AND ALL TRAVEL AND IN PERSON BUSINESS ACTVITIES WAS PUT ON HOLD. ASSFN HAD PLANNED TO HOLD ITS BIENNIAL EVENT ON JUNE 20 - 23, 2020. THE EVENT WAS TO TAKE PLACE IN BOSTON, MA . INSTEAD THEY HOSTED A VIRTUAL SCIENTIFIC UPDATE ON JUNE 28, 2020 VIA ZOOM. THE PROGRAM FEATURED THE PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS BY ASSFN PRESIDENT ROBERT GROSS, MD, PHD, FAANS , KEYNOTE LECTURES BY SCIENTISTS ED BOYDEN, PHD, AND MATTHEW BOTVINICK, MD, PHD AND THE HONORED GUEST LECTURE BY RENOWNED EPILEPSY SURGEON DENNIS SPENSER, MD. INVITED FACULTY TALKS COVERED TOPICS ON MOVEMENT DISORDERS, EPILEPSY, PAIN, PSYCHIATRIC NEUROSURGERY AND RADIOSURGERY.
