OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE PEOPLE WHO RESIDE IN THE SUNSHINE, TALKEETNA, CHASE, TRAPPER CREEK AND UPPER CASWELL LAKES AREAS (APPROXIMATELY 900 SQUARE MILES) WITH NEEDED SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD SUPPLIES THAT HELP TO ALLEVIATE FOOD INSUFFICIENCY.

CHILDREN & SENIOR PROGRAMS CHILDREN PROGRAMS-OUTSIDE THE NORMAL PANTRY DISTIBUTIIONS,THESE PROGRAMS ARE SPECIFIC TO AGES (1-18) AND ARE SHORT GRANT DRIVEN PROJECTS. ALONG WITH FEDERAL MEALS WHICH PROVIDES A ONCE A WEEK FEDERAL LUNCH WE COMBINE SUMMER BACKPACK MEALS WHICH PROVIDES A FIVE DAY LUNCH SUMMER BACKPACK PROGRAM. THE WEEKEND BROWN BAG PROGRAM PROVIDES CHILDREN WHO DONT HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT WITH NUTRITIOUS,EASY TO PREPARE FOODS AT TIME WHEN RESOURCES ARE NOT AVAILABLE. RIPPLES- REDUCING ISOLATION IN SENIOR POPULATIONS PROJECT IS A MULTI PHASED PROJECT THAT WORKS TO IMPORVE SENIOR HEATLH BY EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOCIAL INTERACTION FOR LOW INCOME SENIORS

FEDERAL PROGRAMS TEFAP(TEMPORARY EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM) TEFAP COMMODITIES ARE DISTRIBUTED THOUGH UPPER SUSITNA FOOD PANTRY ON TWICE A MONTH CSFP (COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM) CSFP WORKS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF LOW-INCOME ELDERLY PERSON AT LEAST 60 YEARS IF AGE BY SUPPLEMENTING THEIR DIETS WITH NUTRITIOUS USDA FOODS.


NON-REGULATED (NON GOVT PROGRAM) FOOD DISTRIBUTION DIRECT PUBLIC SUPPORT THE MAJORITY OF FOOD WE DISTRIBUTE TO FAMILIES EACH MONTH IS PURCHASED FROM THE FOOD BANK OF ALASKA, INDEPENDENT GROCERY STORES, AND LOCAL FARMERS. FOOD PURCHASED AND ASSOCIATED TRANSPORTATION COSTS ARE FUNDED THOUGH GRANTS AND FUNDRAISING. PROGRAMS INCLUDE HUNGER IS, STANDARD FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS AND HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
