QB@CC: THIS 5 YEARS AWARD SUPPORTS THE ADVANCEMENT OF QUANTITATIVE SKILL IN BIOLOGY AND MATHEMATICS STUDENTS AT 2 YEAR COLLEGES. THE PROJECT FOCUSES ON THE FORMATION OF A COMMUNITY OF MATHEMATICS AND BIOLOGY FACULTY TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT QUANTITATIVE BIOLOGY EDUCATION RESOURCES. FUNDS SUPPORT COMMUNITY MEETINGS, TRAVEL TO CONFERENCES TO SHARE RESOURCES, PLANNING MEETINGS FOR THE STEERING COMMITTEE AND ADVISORY BOARD, AND LIMITED SUPPORT FOR THE PRICIPAL INVESTIGATORS ON THE GRANT. FUNDS ARE ALLOCATED TO SUPPORT PARTICIPANT TRAVEL TO MEETINGS, AND STIPENDS FOR CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT. SUBCONTRACT SUPPORT MEETING HOSTING, HOSTING THE WEBSITE ON QUBESHUB, QUBES STAFF SUPPORT FOR THE PROJECT, AND THE PROJECT EVALUATION.
QUBES:DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE QUBES PROJECT QUBESHUB.ORG TO IMPROVE QUANTITAIVE BIOLOGY EDUCATION AT THE UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL. QUANTITATIVE SKILLS ARE CRITICAL TO STUDENT SUCCESS IN MODER BIOLOGY, AS WELL AS A BASIC 21ST CENTURY SILL FOR WORKFORCE PREPARATION. THE QUBES PROJECT LAUNCHED IN 2015 AND IS A COLLABORATION BETWEEN BIOQUEST AND FIVE ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS. THE PROJECT PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR FACULTY, RESOURCES AND COMMUNITY NETWORKS TO PROVIDE FACULTY WITH TOOLS AND SUPPORT TO IMPROVE STUDENTS QUANTITATIVE BIOLOGY SKILLS, AND PROVIDES THESE SERVICES PRIMARILY IN A VIRTUAL SETTING ON THE QUBESHUB SITE. FOCUSES ON THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ASPECTS OF THE PROGRAM INCLUDING PROVIDING AN ANNUAL SUMMER WORKSHOP, IT PROVIDES IN PERSON OPPORTUNITIES FOR NETWORKING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
HEWLETT: THIS WAS A SUBAWARD TO SUPPORT WORK ON QUBES RELATED TO THE SCORE NETWORK INCLUDING WORK ON THE QUBES PLATFORM, SUPPORT FOR THE COMMUNICATION MANAGER, AND STAFF SUPPORTING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ON QUBES.
SUMMER WORKSHOP: THE BIOME IS AN ONLINE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE THAT ENGAGE FACULTY FROM ACCROSS THE COUNTRY. THE PROGRAMMING IS SUPPORTED THROUGH REGISTRATIONS FEESM WHICH WERE COVERED ALMOST ENTIRELY BY THE QUBES GRANT IN 2020 UDL INICIATIVE: THIS PROJECT WAS DESIGNED TO BUILD CAPACITY IN UDL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. ONLINE4BIO: THIS AWARD SUPPORT THE ADVANCEMENT OF QUANTITATIVE SKILL IN BIOLOGY AND METHEMATICS STUDENTS AT 2 YEAR COLLEGES.
