AS A NON-PROFIT PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL, NEVADA CITY SCHOOL OF THE ARTS (NCSA) SERVES IN EXCESS OF 400 STUDENTS IN GRADES TK - 8. THE SHARED VISION OF THE SCHOOL IS TO PROVIDE A RIGOROUS ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT USING ART AS A LENS TO SHAPE CURRICULUM. THE MUSIC PROGRAM AT NCSA IS DESIGNED TO ENRICH ITS CORE ACADEMICS AND MAIN LESSON ART IS INTEGRATED FOR EACH GRADE LEVEL. FROM THE NCSA PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT: THE ARTS - MUSIC, DANCE, THEATER, AND THE VISUAL ARTS - ARE CRUCIAL TO THE COMPLETE EDUCATION OF A CHILD. THEIR PRACTICE, UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION ARE ESSENTIAL TO HUMAN EXPERIENCE AND LEARNING ITSELF.
