REOPENED FOUR EXISTING NEW YORK CITY FARMS, POST-PANDEMIC WHEN SCHOOLS FULLY REOPENED, POST-PANDEMIC,GROWING CLOSE TO 30,000 POUNDS OF PRODUCE AND SERVING 5,000 STUDENTS ANNUALLY. LAUNCHED ONE ADDITIONAL NEWYORK CITY FARM IN FAR ROCKAWAY, QUEENS AND RECEIVED FUNDING FROM THE USDA, THE QUEENS BOROUGH PRESIDENT,AND THE NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION TO CREATE A FOUR-FARM, SCHOOL-BASED HEALTHY FOOD HUB ON THE ROCKAWAY PENINSULA THAT WILL PRODUCE CLOSE TO 30,000 POUNDS OF PRODUCE AND PROVIDE FOOD AND EDUCATION TO NEARLY 4,000 STUDENTS IN THIS HIGHLY FOOD-INSECURE AREA. EXPANDED ITS FOOTPRINT TO DENVER, CO, WITH A SCHOOL FARM WHOSE STUDENTS GROW BETWEEN 10,000 AND 12,000 LBS OF PRODUCE ANNUALLY FOR THE SCHOOL CAFETERIA AND COMMUNITY.
