THE CENTER SERVES BOTH THE PUBLIC AND SCHOLARLY COMMUNITY AS A GATHERING PLACE FOR THE STUDY AND DISCUSSION OF THE EARLY AMERICAN REPUBLIC (1776-1861). THE CENTER OWNED AND OPERATED A GEORGIAN STYLE RESIDENCE, FURNISHED WITH PERIOD FINE AND DECORATIVE ARTS, SITUATED ON 15 COASTAL ACRES OF WOODLANDS, LAWNS, AND GARDENS 33 MILES NORTHEAST OF BOSTON IN MANCHESTER, MASSACHUSETTS UNTIL IT GRANTED THE PROPERTY TO HISTORIC NEW ENGLAND ON APRIL 21, 2016. THE CENTER LEASES THE PROPERTY FROM HNE NOW AND SEEKS TO PARTNER WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO USE THE PROPERTY IN WAYS WHICH ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CENTER, PROVIDING A CONDUCIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR THESE ORGANIZATIONS TO FOSTER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND DISCUSSION BETWEEN AND AMONG (1)SCHOLARS, (2)PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN THE FIELDS OF HISTORY AND OTHER AREAS AND (3) THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
