BROOKLYN URBAN GARDEN SCHOOL ("BUGS") IS A COMMUNITY-BASED MIDDLE SCHOOL, SERVING GRADES 6-8, WHERE STUDENTS STUDY THE NATURAL AND SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT ACROSS ALL SUBJECTS, USING A HANDS-ON, INQUIRY-BASED APPROACH. STUDENTS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS AND ABILITIES ARE WELCOME.

THE BROOKLYN URBAN GARDEN SCHOOL (BUGS) IS A PUBLIC CHARTER MIDDLE SCHOOL (6TH 8TH GRADES) IN BROOKLYNS COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT 15, SERVING THE GOWANUS, RED HOOK, SUNSET PARK, KENSINGTON, CARROLL GARDENS, AND PARK SLOPE NEIGHBORHOODS. BUGS IS AN AUTONOMOUS, COMMUNITY-BASED PROJECT THAT IS INDEPENDENT FROM ANY CHARTER SCHOOL MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION AND PROVIDES AN ADDITIONAL HIGH QUALITY, INNOVATIVE, AND INCLUSIVE ALTERNATIVE FOR OUR COMMUNITY. DURING THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR, BUGS OPERATED CLASSES FOR 88 STUDENTS IN GRADE 8, 108 STUDENTS IN GRADE 7, AND 109 STUDENTS IN GRADE 6.
