ONE BEAD'S FIRST PROGRAM SERVICE IS CALLED THE LOCAL LEADER SPOTLIGHT SERIES. A LOCAL LEADER SPOTLIGHT IS A 30-MINUTE INTERVIEW FEATURING A BIPOC BUSINESS OWNER, CIVIC LEADER, AND/OR ENTREPRENEUR. INTERVIEWS TAKE PLACE WEEKLY ON ZOOM AND ARE CO-HOSTED BY STUDENTS. IN THE TAX YEAR FROM JULY 1, 2021 TO JUNE 30, 2022, ONE BEAD HOSTED 33 INTERVIEWS AND 295 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN AT LEAST ONE INTERVIEW. 65% OF STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THREE OR MORE INTERVIEWS.
ONE BEAD'S SECOND PROGRAM SERVICE IS CALLED THE ONE BEAD PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM IS FOR STUDENTS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE LOCAL LEADER SPOTLIGHT SERIES AND WANT TO TAKE THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILL-BUILDING A STEP FURTHER. THE VIRTUAL SERIES INSPIRES CONVERSATIONS ABOUT EQUITY, LEADERSHIP, AND IDENTITY, WHILE ALSO GIVING STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THEMSELVES REPRESENTED IN POSITIONS OF POWER. IN THE TAX YEAR FROM JULY 1, 2021 TO JUNE 30, 2022, ONE BEAD HOSTED 33 LLS INTERVIEWS AND 295 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN AT LEAST ONE INTERVIEW.
