THE FAIR FOOD STANDARDS COUNCIL (FFSC) IMPLEMENTED, MONITORED, AND AUDITED AGREEMENTS BETWEEN BUYERS, GROWERS, AND WORKERS IN THE TOMATO INDUSTRY FROM FLORIDA TO NEW JERSEY RELATING TO FARMWORKERS HUMAN RIGHTS, WORKING CONDITIONS, AND THE PENNY-PER-POUND PRICE PREMIUM. THE FFSC INVESTIGATED AND RESOLVED ISSUES BROUGHT TO ITS ATTENTION BY CALLS FROM FARMWORKERS, EDUCATED GROWERS ON BEST PRACTICES FOR VALUING THE HUMAN RIGHTS OF THEIR WORKFORCE AND ACHIEVING COMPLIANCE WITH PROGRAM STANDARDS, AND EDUCATED CONSUMERS ABOUT WORKER-DRIVEN SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.
