THE MISSION OF VISIONS IS TO REDUCE PROVERTY AND IMPROVE LIVES IN THE NORTHERN NECK BY BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF AREA NONPROFITS THROUGH INCREASED COLLABORATION, COMMUNICATION AND TRAINING, BY FACILITATING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES, AND THROUGH OTHER INITIATIVES THAT FILL NEEDED SERVICE GAPS.

LEAD NORTHERN NECK: LEAD NORTHERN NECK IS AN INITIATIVE ENDORSED BY VISIONS, RAPPAHANNOCK COMMUNITY COLLEGE, AND MULTIPLE LOCAL BUSINESSES DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP BY EQUIPPING CITIZENS TO TAKE CIVIC ACTION. LEAD NORTHERN NECK PREPARES CITIZENS WITH THE SKILLS, ATTITUDES, AND RELATIONSHIPS REQUIRED TO MAKE LASTING POSITIVE CHANGES IN OUR COMMUNITY. SESSION TOPICS INCLUDE GOVERNMENT, TOURISM, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, SCHOOL SYSTEMS, RACISM, AND HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES.
NORTHERN NECK CONNECTION: SERVES AS A CATALYST FOR COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTION AMONG OUR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, GOVERNMENT, BUSINESSES AND INDIVIDUALS IN AN EFFORT TO STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY AND ENHANCE NONPROFIT DEVELOPMENT. WE BELIEVE THAT BY HELPING NONPROFITS WORK EFFECTIVELY AND BY ADVOCATING A CULTURE OF PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT, THE NORTHERN NECK AND MIDDLE PENINSULA CAN BE A STRONGER COMMUNITY WITH ENHANCED ECONOMIC STABILITY AND HIGH QUALITY OF LIFE. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE THE VEHICLE FOR ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS TO LEARN ABOUT THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY LIVE, WORK AND VISIT. NORTHERN NECK CONNECTION HELPS LOCAL GROUPS COMMUNICATE WITH AREA RESIDENTS ABOUT THEIR MISSIONS AND TO PUBLICIZE THEIR EVENTS, VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, JOB OPENINGS, AND OTHER INFORMATION SO THAT PEOPLE CAN EASILY FIND THE SERVICES THEY NEED OR DISCOVER WAYS TO GET INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY AFFAIRS.
