THE SAVANNAH EARLY CHILDHOOD FOUNDATION WILL CONTINUE TO SECURE FUNDING AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS, DEPLOYING THOSE RESOURCES NEIGHBORHOOD-BY-NEIGHBORHOOD FOR AT-RISK FAMILIES' PARENT SKILLS TRAINING, TRACKING AND MEASURING PARENTAL KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITION AND APPLICATION, SO PARENTS BECOME THEIR CHILDREN'S FIRST, BEST AND MOST EFFECTIVE TEACHERS AND ADVOCATES FROM BIRTH TO AGE FIVE, WITH THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF ALL SAVANNAH CHILDREN BEING SCHOOL-READY (AS DEFINED BY THE SAVANNAH CHATHAM COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM) AT SCHOOL AGE. ADDITIONALLY, ELC'S ARE DESIGNED WITH AND FOR PARENTS, TO INCREASE NEIGHBORHOOD PARTICIPATIONS TO "CRITICAL MAS", WHERE ATTENDANCE AND APPLICATION OF TRAINING RECEIVED BECOMES THE COMMUNITY CULTURAL NORM, RATHER THAN THE EXCEPTION.

CONTINUES TO EXPAND PARENT SKILLS TRAINING AT EARLY LEARNING COLLEGES FOR SAVANNAH INNER-CITY PARENTS WITH CHILDREN AGES BIRTH-TO-3/4/5 YEARS BEYOND THE ORIGINAL NINE TARGETED NEIGHBORHOODS SECF NOW SERVES, TO THOSE ADDITIONAL RESIDENTIAL AND CHURCH LOCATIONS SECF HAS BEEN ASKED TO SERVE WITH SESSIONS (BABY SHOWERS AND SPECIAL EVENTS) AT EACH LOCATION TO ATTRACT AND INTRODUCE PARENTS TO EARLY LEARNING COLLEGE TRAINING, WHILE PROVIDING NAEYC ACCREDITED CHILDCARE, SKILLS ACQUISITION MEASUREMENT AND INCREASING ATTENDANCE OF BOTH PARENTS AND CHILDREN. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, THE SECF CONSULTS WITH NEW PARENTS TO PROVIDE A MUTUALLY DEVELOPED NEEDS ASSESSMENT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND PARENT SKILL ENHANCEMENT FOR THOSE RESOURCE-CHALLENGED FAMILIES IN THE GREATER SAVANNAH, GEORGIA AREA.
