Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3
DURING 2021, DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE OPENED WITH LIMITED CAPACITY (TO 30% OF CAPACITY IN MAY AND JUNE, AND TO 40% OF CAPACITY IN JULY AND AUGUST). STILL, DURING THE SUMMER SEASON, THE POOL HAD NEARLY 19,000 VISITS, WITH THE MAJORITY OF OUR PATRONS BEING CHILDREN/YOUTH. OVER 250 TODDLERS, CHILDREN AND YOUTH RECEIVED SWIM LESSONS. APPROXIMATELY 75 FAMILIES PURCHASED ANNUAL PASSES, IN ADDITION TO OVER 125 INDIVIDUALS. THE YPSILANTI OTTERS, A NON-PROFIT, COMMUNITY-BASED SWIM ORGANIZATION, HOSTED ITS SUMMER PRACTICES AND SWIM MEETS FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH AT RUTHERFORD POOL AS WELL. THE POOL WORKED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE YPSILANTI COMMUNITY SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE FREE POOL PASSES AND LESSONS TO OVER 100 STUDENTS DURING 2021. OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM CONSISTED OF JUNIOR LIFEGUARD TRAINING, AND A WATER SAFETY CAMP, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PARKRIDGE COMMUNITY CENTER SUMMER PROGRAM. WE ALSO EXPANDED OUR SUCCESSFUL WATER EXERCISE PROGRAM FOR SENIORS. ALL OF THESE PROGRAMS AND RELATIONSHIPS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF OUR COMMUNITY'S STRENGTH. BECAUSE SO MANY IN OUR COMMUNITY RELY ON THE POOL, WE ARE COMMITTED TO EXPANDING PROGRAMMING AND ACCESSIBILITY TO ALL PATRONS FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
